Meet our Dekyongs

Thank you for your interest in our Community Blog. We are so happy that you are here!

This blog page is dedicated to fostering connection and engagement within the Sangha for the Buddhist Center of Steamboat Springs. Our Dekyongs manage and monitor all of these blog posts.

A community that gathers with a shared enthusiasm to bring the Buddha’s teachings to life is called a Sangha, a Sanskrit term meaning ‘those who delight in virtue’. Sangha is the third of the ‘Three Jewels’ (along with the Buddha and the Dharma).

The term ‘Dekyong’ can be interpreted as an individual that aspires to care for the needs and well being of the community.

We are available to all of our Sangha members, whether you are a Steamboat local or joining us online from afar, to assist and coordinate support or simply as a dharma friend/resource.

We want to hear about your Cares & Concerns AND your Joys & Celebrations. Feel free to reach out to us anytime at dekyongs@steamboatbuddhistcenter.org.

We would like to express our Deep Gratitude to all of the Dekyongs who have come before us.
